SOUTH-EAST REGION
AGRICULTURE AND LIVESTOCK
The statistical data by region show that in 2014, the agricultural area in the South-East was 9.5% of the total agricultural area in the Republic of Macedonia.
According to the vineyard area, the South-East region has a territory of 4,408 (ha), which is 20.7% of the total area, and comes second after Vardar region. The total area of agricultural land in the South-Eastern region increased from 91,064 (ha) in 2010 to 124.674 (ha) in 2014. Moreover, the total ploughed area increased from 56,907 (ha) in 2010, to 59.264 (ha) in 2014. During the same period, the areas classified as ploughed areas, gardens and fruit gardens have increased.
